B1 Or B2 Visa

U.S.A Tourist Visa

United States Tourist Visa also is known as B1 / B-2 visa is granted to people who intend to visit the United States. If you are visiting family, friends, or coming to the U.S.A for truism, you need to apply for a tourist visa. You may also apply for this visa if you are coming for pleasure, medical treatment, attend a conference or work meeting.

In order to apply for a visa, you must first complete the form D-160, pay the application fee and obtain an appointment at the U.S. Embassy for an interview. It is important to fill out and complete the Ds-160 form accurately.

While applying for the tourist visa is simple, the procedures must be followed, forms need to be completed accurately and you must prepare for the interview at the embassy with an officer and provide certain proof for your trip as well as proving that you will return back to your country.

Simply, you need to show reasons as to why you would definitely return to your home country. For example, you need to show that you are employed and have a job to return to, or that you are a student and need to attend school, university and etc. or if you are self-employed, your business is still operating, have family and assets.

B2 Visa

A B2 visa is also a non-immigrant visa for those wishing to enter to the United States as a tourist. You can apply for B-2 Visa if you want to:

  • Visit family and friends
  • Vacation
  • Medical treatment
  • participate in social events
  • Enrollment in a short recreational course of study, not for credit toward a degree (for example, a short-term cooking class )

Just like the B-1 visa, if you are a citizen of one of the countries in the Visa Waiver Program, you do not need to apply for a tourist visa. Instead, you may apply for an Electronic System for Travel Authorization (ESTA).

B-1 Visa

A B1 visa is a non-immigrant visa for those wishing to enter to the United States for business purposes such as:

  • Attending a Business Conference
  • Work Meetings
  • Professional or business convention
  • Negotiating a contract
  • Attend Educational and Business Events
  • Settle Estates

It is important to know that the B1 visa does not give the holder the right to work in the U.S. It only serves for business and tourism purposes.
